We are thrilled to be working with the Killinger Endowed Chair and Professor of Educational Foundations, Leadership and Policy, Ann Ishimaru, on her latest book, Doing the Work of Equity Leadership for Systems Change and Justice, with co-editor Decoteau Irby by Teachers College Press.

Dr. Ann M. Ishimaru (Japanese American Yonsei/she/her) is an award-winning researcher, writer, educator, and the Killinger Endowed Chair and Professor of Educational Foundations, Leadership and Policy at the University of Washington College of Education. Through her work, she cultivates the leadership and solidarities of educators, organizational leaders and racially minoritized youth, families and communities to realize more transformative futures. She directs the Just Educational Leadership Institute and is the Faculty Research Director of the Leadership for Learning EdD program, where she supports leaders and collaboratives in learning to codesign humanizing educational systems, data literacies, and relationalities. In addition to many peer-reviewed articles in top-tier educational research journals, she published Just Schools: Building Equitable Collaborations with Families and Communities, with Teachers College Press in 2020 and her latest book, Doing the Work of Equity Leadership for Systems Change and Justice, with Decoteau Irby, will also be published by Teachers College Press in September, 2025.
