Book Promotion

We will create a comprehensive, integrated book promotion (marketing and publicity) campaign for your book from getting blurbs and reviews to earning coverage in traditional and digital media.

Our primary goal is to raise awareness of your book, and get you coverage in print media (magazines and newspapers), broadcast media (TV and radio), online media (blogs and online publications) and sell as many copies of your book as possible, as well as to create other opportunities for you as an author, speaker, and/or expert.

To get the best results, it is crucial that your online presence looks professional, including your website, social media profiles, Amazon Author and Book pages, and Goodreads author page. If you have any gaps in this area, our Platform Packages can help you.

Our Book Promotion (or Book Launch) Campaigns are designed to be six months long (four months before the publication of your book and two months after). However, even if you are short on time, or you’ve already released your book, contact us anyway. Guerrilla marketing methods and viral campaigns can work miracles.

Our campaigns are tailored to the book at hand, but our methods include:

  • Integrated Book Marketing and PR campaign design
  • Press release creation and distribution
  • Book trailer production
  • Creating a custom press kit for your book
  • Targeted media outreach
  • Guest blogging outreach
  • Social media and blog outreach to influencers and fans
  • Galley outreach and review solicitation
  • Planning your book launch event locally or digitally
  • Scheduling book signings and author readings
  • Scheduling interviews
  • Getting you book reviews
  • Setting up a Blog tour
  • Earning you blog mentions, bylines, and opportunities for expert commentary
  • Book advertising in niche outlets and on social media
  • Book marketing and pay-per-click campaigns on Facebook, Google Adwords, etc.
  • Submitting your book to awards and for inclusion on lists
  • Creating a list of other authors to serve as your publicity partners and contacting them for cross promotion
  • Creating and managing your email list to stay in touch with fans and readers
  • Organizing raffles of your book to reach more fans

The above are just examples of our services. We will design the right campaign for your book. We can take care of all graphic design, multimedia, photography, signage, copywriting, and other material design, creation, and distribution, as needed.

Let’s discuss how we can promote your book!

FAQ about our Book Promotion Services

What kinds of books do you promote?

We’ll gladly promote any well-written, professionally produced books, regardless of genre.

Why do I need to promote my book?

You wrote your book because you wanted to make a difference in the lives of your future readers, or because you had a story that you had to share with the world or knowledge you were burning to impart. Your book is ready to go out in the world, but if no one knows about it, how can it make the difference you hoped for?

Without promotion, the chances of readers and reviewers discovering your book among the thousands of new books published every day are close to none.

A well-planned and executed book launch and promotion campaign can make the difference between your book being read widely versus your masterpiece fading into obscurity.

We work hard to build connections with influencers, and people in digital and traditional media, who can put your book in front of larger audiences. We believe in exploring every avenue, not just the traditional PR routes. We will find a way to make your book stand out. If that sounds good, get in touch with us today and let’s promote your book.

Isn’t book promotion cheating? If my book is good shouldn’t people buy it without advertising?

No, promoting your book isn’t cheating; it’s the smart thing to do. Savvy authors try to give their books the best chance to stand out. You’ve put years of hard work and your best efforts into writing, editing, and getting your book ready for publication, but the work doesn’t end there.

The e-revolution means that there are 8,000 books published around the world every day. It is crucial to find a way to make your book stand out so that members of the media, influencers, reviewers, and readers take note of it. That’s where we come in. We’re great at promoting books because we love doing it, and we have the expertise to make your book stand out. If you are ready to promote your book, get in touch with us today.

Can’t I just promote my book by myself?

Sure, you can. However, keep in mind that time is of the essence and you only get to launch a book once. If you miss the opportunity to get interviews, early reviews, and online exposure, you’re not giving your book a chance to succeed.

Book promotion is a long-term commitment that requires a lot of planning, preparation, and know-how to be successful. You can spend a few months learning the ropes, but realistically, no one person can do everything perfectly alone. Having our team of five dedicated book promoters behind you will assure that your book is given the best chance at making a splash and selling well. Contact us today to discuss your book promotion plans with us.

What is more effective for promoting a book: publicity or advertising?

We believe that to effectively promote a book you need to utilize everything in your power: marketing, advertising, and publicity. What’s the difference? Marketing is all-encompassing and focuses more on the big picture, and advertising and publicity are both part of it. Advertising is a paid form of non-personal promotion used to persuade the target audience to buy the advertised product; in this case, your book. Publicity is seen as more credible and cost-effective and focuses on creating beneficial relationships between you and your target audience, or your readers.

Each aspect requires specific skills and knowledge to get it done right. We believe that a combination of traditional and digital book promotion methods will give your book the best chance at breaking out. We’re not afraid of thinking outside the box, and you shouldn’t be, either. Get in touch today if you are ready to promote your book.

When should I contact and hire you?

The ideal start date for the book promotion campaign is 4 to 6 months before the publication date of your book. That gives us enough time to strategize a full campaign, prepare a list of influencers, media outlets, reviewers, and early readers to target, as well as to create all marketing material, social media posts, and more to be used in your campaign.

My book has been out for a few months. Is it too late to hire you?

No, it’s not too late; however, there are some aspects of a book promotion campaign that are much harder to work on post-publication. For instance, getting you book reviews will be harder because many of the traditional review outlets will not cover books that have already been published. Getting on TV or into certain longer lead-time publications will also be extremely difficult. Request a consultation now so we can determine whether we could still help you.

How long will a book promotion campaign take? What is the timeline for it?

It largely depends on you and your book, but we like to begin our work at least three months ahead of your publication date. We take the time to read your book, create a promotional strategy, build our media and influencer target list, and design promotional graphics. We also send galleys to journalist, reviewers, editors, producers, TV and radio hosts, podcasters, bloggers, and influencers ahead of time. As we near your publication date, we begin to arrange interviews and an in-person or virtual tour. We secure customer reviews, too. And after publication, we ramp up our advertising efforts to get you as many sales as possible.

The length of the campaign also depends on the strength of your platform. If your platform is notably strong, it will take less time. If you do not have a professional, informative, responsive website, large mailing list, and active social media presence promoting your author brand, it will take a little longer. However, don’t worry, you are in the best of hands as we provide these services, too.

Lastly, the length of the campaign depends on whether you’d like us to run your social media, and secure speaking opportunities for you. We offer these additional services and can always expand the scope to meet your needs.

How can I measure the book promotion campaign's results?

At the beginning of our working relationship with you, we discuss the book promotion plan and set specific, measurable goals. If necessary, these goals can be changed and expanded later. As your campaign progresses, we keep you updated about our efforts and about meeting or exceeding the goals we set together. If at any point you feel that the results don’t measure up to your expectations, we are happy to course correct. Our goal is always your complete satisfaction!

I’ve tried book promotion and publicity before and they didn't work for me. Can you guarantee that your methods will work?

Traditional PR methods depend on the goodwill of media personnel, which means that not all authors will benefit from them. Marketing requires a strong understanding of current rules and trends in PPC (pay-per-click) and AMS (Amazon Marketing Services) advertising. Our team stays up-to-date on these and does its best to combine marketing and publicity to get your book noticed.

If we take you on as a client, we are sure that we can help you. We will always guarantee reaching out to a certain number of influencers and members of the media, as well as results on the agreed upon advertising channels. We will keep you updated about our progress and will make sure you’re satisfied. Contact us today to work out the terms of our collaboration.

How do I know you won’t misrepresent me?

We will get all material (graphics, pitches, ads, and major social media communication) preapproved by you to make sure you’re comfortable with what we put out there. We are also happy to prepare you for interviews, as well as accompany you to events, so you’re never caught off-guard by a question. We are your support team, and our goals are the same as yours: to make you look good and help you sell more books.

Do you work with traditionally published authors?

Yes. We will coordinate with your publisher’s PR and marketing team to amplify their efforts, and to do what they don’t have the capacity to do. (See the next question for more details.)

I'm a traditionally published author. How can you help me?

As you may know, these days even with a traditional publishing deal, you are almost entirely responsible for marketing your book, not to mention building your platform and interacting with your fans and potential readers.

Simply put, larger publishing houses have in-house publicists and marketing personnel dividing their attention between dozens of books at a time. Small publishers may have one or two people trying to manage publicity and marketing for multiple books at a time. They may not always be able to give your book the attention it needs.

Furthermore, you as the author are expected to have a strong platform and maintain an active presence on social media, thus driving interest and potential readership to your book. Most in-house publicity and marketing teams don’t have the capacity to create book trailers, author videos, or arrange blog tours, book club outreach, or design social media graphics, giveaways, and more. We can do all that for you as part of our book promotion campaign.

Do you work with self-published authors?

Yes, we do. Self-publishing is an entrepreneurial venture, and we admire your spirit. When you decide to embark on the publishing journey without a publisher, you gain full control over your book but give up the support of a publishing company’s marketing and PR team. Simply put, everything falls on your shoulders. Promoting your book requires a large investment of time and effort. Additionally, as an indie author, your brand is even more important than a traditional author’s as you cannot rely on the name recognition and built-in audience of a publishing company.

We’ll work with you to set realistic goals and to market your book through the best venues available. We can be your behind the scenes promotional team, who won’t just sell your books but market them to the right audience to build a fan base for you. That way, your next book will be easier to market, and with each new publication, you are destined to sell more books.

As an indie author, I’m a one-person book publishing company. Why should I hire you?

As a self-published or indie author, you are in the business of writing and publishing books, but that doesn’t mean you should do everything yourself. Imagine a doctor saying, “I’m going to open my own practice. Why should I hire a receptionist? A nurse? An accountant?” Sure, the doctor could answer the phones and file the paperwork and do his taxes and a dozen other things himself or herself, but isn’t the doctor’s time better spent operating on patients? Likewise, as an author, you should focus on what you do best and rely on others to help you with the rest. You write the book, and we’ll promote it for you.

Book promotion campaigns often require 20 hours of work a week. Let us take care of that for you. We have a staff of 8, and divide the work between us. Every task is meticulously planned and executed. We work as your promotional team, so you can rest assured that you and your book are in good and capable hands, and you can focus on writing your next bestseller in peace.
