JOIN US at Octavia’s Bookshelf in Pasadena for the Los Angeles launch of The Gist of Bid Whist by Lamont Jones. The event is on Tuesday, March 5, starting at 6:00 PM. Lamont Jones will be in conversation with André Birotte Jr. and MyKhanh Shelton, followed by a Q&A, mini-workshop, and book signing. A complimentary Bicycle card deck will be given with each purchase of a copy of The Gist of Bid Whist, while supplies last. This is a free event.

Lamont Jones is a boxing lawyer and card game enthusiast devoted to helping Bid Whist reclaim its cultural prominence. A card game enthusiast and boxing business attorney, Lamont Jones wrote The Gist of Bid Whist because he believes that card games connect people, and that the rich story of Bid Whist and the people who passed it down deserves to be widely known.

André Birotte, Jr. is a stalwart in California legal circles. In previous roles, Birotte has served as the United States Attorney for the Central District of California, and as Inspector General of the Los Angeles Police Department.
