Jon Wiener
We are so excited to start working with Los Angeles historian, journalist, and professor emeritus of U.S. history at UC Irvine, Professor Jon Wiener.
His forthcoming book, Set the Night on Fire: L.A. in the Sixties (Verso Books, April 14, 2020), is a historical tour de force, delivered in scintillating and fiercely beautiful prose.
Professor Wiener is the host and producer of “Start Making Sense,” The Nation’s weekly podcast, and a long-time contributing editor at The Nation. His work has also appeared in the New York Times Book Review, the New Republic, and the Los Angeles Times. It has been translated into Japanese, German, Russian, Spanish, Swedish, Danish and Italian.
He has a B.A. from Princeton and a Ph.D. from Harvard, where he began working as a writer in the late sixties for the underground paper The Old Mole. He lives in Los Angeles.
Stay tuned for updates!
