What kind of academics is this for?

This workshop is designed for scholars across disciplines, but it’s especially helpful for scholars in the humanities, social sciences, education, and public health. But anyone trying to make their work more visible is welcome.

I’m an early-career scholar—will this help me?

Yes. I’m often told that this is the kind of support most scholars say they wish they’d had from the beginning. You’ll gain skills that aren’t taught in graduate school but are essential for thriving in today’s landscape.

Is this only for U.S.-based scholars?

No. We welcome participants from around the world.

I’ve already been interviewed before—is this still worth it?

Yes. Most attendees already have some experience. This is about going deeper, refining your voice, and staying sharp in a changing media landscape.

Will this help if I’m not promoting a book?

Yes. Whether you’re working on a report, starting a Substack, preparing for interviews, or want to engage on social media, this is about showing up publicly with clarity and strategy.

Is this about social media?

No. We’ll cover media training for TV, radio, podcasts, and public speaking, as well as guidance for op-eds and print interviews. You’ll also get frameworks to help with bios, panel intros, and more.

Will this be recorded?

No. To protect attendees’ privacy and foster honest discussion, the session will not be recorded.

Can my university pay for this?

Often, yes. Many scholars use professional development, research dissemination, or other grants and funds to cover this workshop. We can provide a receipt and description for reimbursement if needed.
